A holiday is being organised by Redditch Ramblers to the South Yorkshire Dales using Skipton as a base.

This is a 7 night break arriving on Friday 4th September & departing on Friday 11th September.

The plan is to host both "A" & "B" walks on 5 walking days with a midweek leisure day factored in.

Skipton is a historic market town offering a wealth of options for both walking & our leisure day.  As well as the regular market days, there is the Leeds & Liverpool canal, pleasure boat trips & Skipton Castle. Skipton also boasts both a train station & a bus station. It really is the "Gateway to the Dales".

For logistical reasons, it is necessary to limit the numbers to a maximum of 25 people. For this reason it is essential you register your interest with Michelle Koz by no later than Friday 23rd January.

Please ensure you have confirmation from Michelle that you have been allocated a place BEFORE going ahead & booking your accommodation.

This year we are introducing a £10 booking fee. This admin charge is per person and will go towards any incidental expenses incurred by the organisers.

Once you have confirmation of your place from Michelle, pay your £10 to Redditch Ramblers. It is only after this point that you should go ahead in sorting your accommodation.

Location: The Lakeland Hotel, KENDAL, LA9 6BT Accommodation: Half Board – 6 double; 7 twin and 24 single rooms – all are en-suite.

Transport: Coach from All Saints’ Church Hall Car Park, Bromsgrove, B60 1AD – 9.0am Friday 9th October

Walks: Saturday & Sunday – guided A and B walks available. Monday am – at leisure or local guided walk before lunchtime departure for Bromsgrove arriving at approximately 6.30pm.

Cost: £449 per person (no single supplement) – price includes all travel by coach, and dinner, bed and breakfast for three nights. This price is for a minimum of 30 people travelling.

Insurance: It is a condition of travelling with the tour company that ALL passengers have their own insurance. No insurance is available through the tour company this year.

Non-refundable deposit of £100 per person will reserve a place on the trip, to be paid by Friday 3rd April 2026 – the balance to be paid by 1st August 2026. If you are single and able to share a room it will ease the demand for the allotted single rooms. Please indicate who you have agreed to share with where this is applicable.
